Loaded with ambiance, excellent food and wonderful background music, this restaurant is typically open from 8am until midnight. January and February is off season so hours may be different. Tucked away on a cobblestone side street just off the main harbor area, Tinel offers some of the finest food in Split. We enjoyed several meals here. All the fish dishes are excellent. Seafood in this country is the freshest you will find anywhere in the world as are the local vegetable dishes and soups. They make a divine cream of mushroom soup that is served at your table from a carafe into your bowl. We enjoyed a variety of local red and white “vins de table” here. No need to spend a fortune for great wines. Tables are set with linens and the ambiance is relaxed. The staff speaks English and is friendly.

Thank you a lovely dinner tonight after a disastrous attempts at some other restaurants! I have been before and really enjoyed the pasta with seafood. This time I had the cuttlefish risotto – really delicious too! Great prices – especially for Split. Great staff both times – very friendly and professional even though seriously busy! And thanks so much for complimentary rozata and panna cotta after table mix-up! Very thoughtful and much appreciated!
